Re: XRV.ORG RALLY 1st international meet

    This isnīt a bad idea

I would like to seriously consider going to such a thing if it wasnīt in Tunisia, simply cause itīs too long a ride to get there in what time I could manage to escape during that time of year. How long a stay in Morocco or Tunisia would you consider?

Morocco sounds great to me, and so does meeting some of you guys.

You know what would be really nice? Mauritania, it would give you border crossings in Africa, passing a landmine area, wrecked carcasses of old ships washed on the beach, etc

Mauritania would be cushdy, a little too far perhaps, depending on time.

Being just a thought so far, Iīll subscribe to this thread. I just assumed I was invited

April 08 is plenty of notice for me - sign me up, I'll go anywhere

I'd have one week max though. Any longer and I'd use up any good will I have left with Mrs. Alpslapper.

Pencil me in. I'd love a return trip to Morocco. Tunisia would be too far for me.

Alpslapper: One week is unrealistic, sorry. It'll take a couple of days to get down to the south of Spain and a couple more to get back. You actually wanna make INTO Morocco too?

Re: XRV.ORG RALLY 1st international meet

I agree that one week is abit too little of a time.. (I have just planed a trip in to spain ..just keep slipping that in dont I...1 week hoohoo).. ah sorry....And with ferry time tables taking 24 hours just to get from plymouth to santander there is 2 days shot already.. and it will take 2 days each way (with some HARD hours in the Sadle) to get to the southern tip of spain..
then we would want at least a week in Morocco.. so i recon if we do this we should book at least 14 days (one-two days of RR in there)...
Alp ..I would be bring my good lady wife.. so ill be two up anyway..so why not do the same... (There is no way in hell i could go with out her..normally i would get killed for doing something cool with out her anyway... but I will have been away for the previous 5-6 months and then go on trip with out here.. I would not have to worry about good will.. I would have to worry about bullets!!!!!!) So Talk to your wife about a 2 up trip....

Not forgetting to sort the 7 yr old out too - Ding Ding . Can you image it - it would be crisps and icecream for breakfast dinner tea and supper I'll work on it - but I just know now theres no way on this earth that my wife would leave the kids for 2 weeks - and theres no way on this earth I have the testicular equiptment to make the suggestion. I'm also not sure I could get away for 2 weeks - 1 week she might buy - 2 weeks.... hmmmmmmmmmmmm we'll see

Couldnt we just like, you know, ride a thousand miles a day or something That'd work out just fine

Re: XRV.ORG RALLY 1st international meet

have heard there is a train similar to the shuttle that goes from santaner to southern spain, think it takes about 12 hours. will try and find out bit more info. should have africa twin by then,,, if not, knobblies on the triumph innit !!!!. course will have to try and talk rollo into going, we were supposed to be doing iceland next year, much warmer south though. and why all the fuss about baysitters ??? thought thats why touratech boxes were so big and strong couple of air and peepholes ,,,,,,,,,
