    Honda Festival

    PRESS RELEASE (for immediate publication)

    The HONDA FESTIVAL
    Sponsored by Honda Insurance
    Sunday 5th August 2007

25 Years of the R Series

The Honda Owners Club (GB) is holding an exciting new motorcycling event on Sunday 5th August 2007 at the Motor Heritage Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire, and with sponsorship from Honda Insurance, it’s a sure-fire winner!

This year is the 25th anniversary of what is arguably the most important range of bikes ever created – the Honda R-series, and to celebrate their will be an appreciative display of these models at the Festival. Along with some other classic Hondas this will be an exciting showing of motorcycles.

Honda UK will be in attendance with their travelling showroom truck bringing along all the new ’07 models for demonstration ride-outs through the Warwickshire countryside.

Honda Insurance who will have a competition on there stand to win a Honda CBR600RR (Not a Fireblade as mentioned in previous press releases).

The Club will be inviting all major motorcycle clubs associated with the Honda marque, along with traders and associations linked to the motorcycling fraternity. Companies already signed up to accompany Honda at the Festival include DeWalt, Bike Safe, IAM, and the BMF. There will be three seminars held in the museums conference rooms on the subjects “What to do if you have an accident”, Tyres, and Visibility. There will also be an auto jumble and a HOG Roast.
At just £8 adult, & £6 child admission (including entrance to the museum*) it’s a bargain day out for all the family.
The Honda Owners Club (GB) is the oldest one make Japanese motorcycle club in the country, it has been in existence since 1961 (before the first Honda motorbike was introduced in Britain), and one of its founder members is still involved today. The Club has around 3,000 members nationwide, with 27 branches dotted around England and Wales (there is even a branch in the Isle of Man). The Club welcomes any people who rides, or have owned, a Honda motorcycle regardless of the capacity or age of the machine (or rider!). As well as being a very sociable club, it is a club for motorcyclists. It is owned and run voluntarily by the membership.
*The Heritage Motor Centre is home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars. The museum charts the history of the British car industry from the turn of the 20th century to the present day. Over 100 years of motoring industry heritage will be celebrated in a brand new exhibition Making British Cars, which opens in a redeveloped museum at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, on the 26 May 2007.

Hmm.....isn't it always the same, that's just down the road from us, WHEN we're at home, but I reckon we're in New Milton that week as it's the middle of our Hol's, so the new 'toy' won't be on display
