    Chilterns Sunday June 17

It's in the calendar - this will probably be roads and lanes rather than off road but if you know the offroads suitable for big trailies and fools like me...
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

I'll have a go at turning up,depends what time you kick off and whether my current crop of minor injuries have mended well enough ! I'd be running out from Soho via Tring maybe.

Cool as Soho - you could come via my place or we could meet near say junction 2 M40 and head off from there. Russh has signed up and a couple of others have expressed an interest, so I'm hoping there'll be three, four or five of us. At least one of the others says they know the 'good' roads around Gt Missenden.
    Ciao

Great! Be good to meet you. Hopefully it'll be a good weather day - and dry!
I was hoping someone that knows the good routes, lanes and cafes/pubs in the general area would recommend a meeting point, but we might have to just decide on one and all try to meet up there. From Nhampton, will you get off the M40 around Stokenchurch or come across country the whole way? There's Sohoeasy coming in from central London - opposite direction. In the absence of anyone having a route for us to follow, I'll gander at the map and look for some fun stuff - prob around the Gt Missenden area, the lanes are nice round there. Hope everyone feels free to suggest.
This vicinity - around the towns - has a bad traffic moment starting at around 11.00am and running until about 2.00pm and it'd be worth staying well out of the way of cagers in a rough hurry at that time

    Re: Chilterns Sunday June 17

OK, so I'm geographically challenged... be kind to me...

As this is new adventure for little me, I thought it'd be good to have some thoughts on what and where.

I'm looking at OS Landranger 165 and my guess is that roughly the area called the Three Hundreds - kind of Holmer Green GR 9097 and say Naphill GR 8597 as its southern edge, Tring GR9210 as its northern edge, Chesham GR 9502 as its Eastern and roughly Princess Risborough GR 8103 as its western edges - has the nicest lanes I'm aware of around here.

I only have road tyres myself but there's what looks on the map like a couple of smaller tracks too - Stokenchurch hooking us round to Bennets End and Radnage GR 7897 and two more from Lacey Green to Speen GR8200 and then Speen to Parslows Hillock GR 8301, but I have no idea what's actually on the ground there. Although I'm local-ish to these lanes, I'm ashamed to say I don't know them and not knowing your preferred riding, can't say for sure it'll be your idea of fun. But that's a start? I'm totally flexible myself and happy to go with the crowd...

What do you all think to meeting in Stokenchurch, just off junction 5 M40 and pick it up from there? We could head out, look over the first of the lanes mentioned above, pick our way up over Bledlow Ridge and follow our noses a bit?

Let me know. Anyone that's going to come, I'll be happy to pm you my mobile numbers?

Hope to see everyone next week
