Possible two day enduro school, SE England, Jan/Feb 2008

Haven't been around here for a while, but I thought this might interest some people here

I was talking to Ady Smith of Ady Smith KTM off-road schools fame today, about the possibility of organising a two day enduro school at their Eastbourne site in January or February next year.

This would be a step up from the more common "try out" or "experience" days, with the emphasis on improving skills rather than just "having a go". Previous off road experience isn't esential, but you'll need generally confident bike skills.

The enduro schools are normally held in Rugeley, Staffs but Ady is happy to run one dahn saaf if there's enough interest. We would need 7 - 10 people for this to happen.

At just £260 for the two days (including bike hire, kit & fuel) this is fantastic value. If you've got your own suitable bike then it's just £130.

Anyone interested? Post here or PM me.

    Cheers
    John

There was hope of organising an xrv day in the spring but this has not yet happened.

Re: Possible two day enduro school, SE England, Jan/Feb 2008

I've provisionally booked this for 23/24 February if anyone else is interested. MacP has sent me a PM saying he's up for it, and there are a bunch from ADVrider too.

It's enduro bikes only, so no big traillies (but you know that makes sense!). Ady has a fleet of 2008 KTM exc enduro bikes available for us though . . .

There are currently a couple of places left, and people are bound to drop out, so if anyone else is interested in joining the group please let me know. Getting some training is probably the best performance mod you can get for your bike!

So where is it? What time? Is there somewhere to stay nearby? This Xmas present material.

It's a few miles north of Eastbourne in East Sussex (not far from Brighton):

    Broad Farm
    Hellingly
    East Sussex
    Nr Eastbourne
    BN27 4DU

Times are 10am to 4pm (I think - if not it won't be much different!)

Yes, there's plenty of accommodation round and about.

    Patience young glasshopper - patience

The day we are planning was more ''inhouse'' ie, we would hire the venue and learn from the off road gurus here - thereby working out very cheaply - eg, we can have the place in Norfolk for the day to ourselves for 15 quid a head.

HOWEVER - there are other options which are more expensive and the plan is in the new year ALL the information on all the various ''packages'' myself and Sharrie have explored will be posted up, one agreed on, and off we go.

The date we are aiming for for our XRV enduro day will be in april.

There is absolutely no reason why both cant happen All it needs is the bodies on the bikes to turn up

If the in-house one is in Norfolk I'll come along and take photos for the site!

We're now provisionally full (actually one over because I can't count), with a mixture of people from advrider.com and xrv.org.uk

    me
    MacP - xrv.org.uk
    Robster - xrv.org.uk
    midlife crisis - xrv.org.uk
    riderbob - adv
    msgs1200 - adv
    nickyboy - adv
    MudLover - adv
    Possu - adv
    WelshLAMB - adv
    Killboy - adv

People will doubtless drop out, so until I've got deposits of everyone I'll hold a reserve list if necessary.

Re: Possible two day enduro school, SE England, Jan/Feb 2008

OK, the deposits are in and here's the list of runners and riders:

    me
    MacP - xrv.org.uk
    Robster - xrv.org.uk
    midlife crisis - xrv.org.uk
    riderbob - adv
    msgs1200 - adv
    nickyboy - adv
    Possu - adv
    Pumpy - adv
    WelshLAMB - adv

If you're not on the list, then you should have sent your deposit in sooner. Sorry!

WelshLAMB owes me for a stamp because he didn't enclose and SAE and midlife crisis owes me £1.06 for excess postage

Ady Smith will e be in touch with the details and I'll see you all in a few weeks.

    Cheers!
    John
