im used to road bikes and trail bike on the road, although i have taken the xr on tarmac it gives the idea of getting into top gear and screaming its nuts off at low speeds.

i have been told that the xr650 tops out at just over 100mph! although i cant see how that's possible my bike still has standard gearing and i,d have no teeth left if i tried that sort of speed on it!

Let me know what you want to do, my mate will be riding over from Barry if you want to ride with him, or there is plenty of parking space in the services at Warminster.

If you want to leave your van at my house (Bristol) that's fine as well.

i havent got a van i was thinking of other people.
i have a single bike trailer so dont think it would be safe leaving it at the services.

be great if i could leave it at your house, i may be able to borrow a 3 bike trailer if your mate wants a lift over the bridge to.

Warminster services have a large parking area which is normally quiet. No promises but I think a locked trailer would be ok for the day.

Just to point out that Solstice Services has some pretty good facilities, with lots of parking. Not only can you top up on fuel, but there's coffee machines, food etc. Oh and a jetwash and air for when you finish off on the plain.
