    New to offroad biking

    Hi,
I've been considering selling my road bikes and getting an offroader to use on green lanes or wherever else i may be able to take it. After a bit of research i'm thinking of getting either a DR350 or XR250/400.

The only issue i have is that i dont actually know anyone that has an offroad bike, so i dont want to go out on my own because it just wont be as fun and i may crash \ get stuck.

My question is, is there some kind of website listing clubs or whatever where i can find local people to go on rideouts with?

    Cheers,
    Jason

I suggest going along to your local Trail Riders Fellowship meeting, the TRF web site should have details. http://www.trf.org.uk/

Oh, and welcome to the site

    Jason,

you can tag along with us if you like. Airwolf is right, join the TRF if you want to do it right. There's guys going out every weekend if you want to really get into it although if you've never ridden offroad before then some of the trails might be a bit much. XR's are brill when you get them set up right. Whatever you get you won't be disappointed.

Theres a TRF that normally go from around the Stokesley/Guisborough area (cleveland or N/Yorkshire TRF) Iv had a look but didnt join,
However u are in a good area for off road tracks and green lanes especially if u head down to the Guisborough or Thirsk area and N/Yorkshire moors.
