Salisbury Plain on Sunday 18th Jan

    Hi All,

Me and Paul (Pole) have new bikes that need to be introduced to the lanes so we are going to take out on Salisbury this Sunday. Is anyone interested in a spin across the Plain?

    Cheers,
    Stef

We had a great day in Salisbury on the EXCs!

It's gonna take me a while to get used to the throttle on the KTM... It's suicidal... but great fun Did my first ever wheelie (and it wasn't intentional ).

Here's a pic of me with my new steed:

and Paul and his new 'Rallye' steed:

Can't wait to get out on the bikes again, we are delighted with them

Did you ride them to the Plain?? Would love to come on the XR but I just need the longer days and a bit warmer to do it on that. Its the going home bit in the dark is so poo. Nice EXC by the way, carefull it will make you not ride your other bike

No, we hired a van. We both only bought the bikes this week so we were just giving them a run out and we didn't want to get stuck in case something went wrong. I think we may hire vans in future though because it's a pity to put so much mileage on these bikes on the motorways and it's cheap enough if 2 or 3 people share a van.
It's a pity you couldn't make it but at least it's starting to get brighter now and days are getting longer (and hopefully warmer but you can never rely on it )

Cheers, the EXC is class... it scares the crap out of me a bit but in a good way! But that said I still love the AT so I don't think it will be too neglected. I'm going to do all my touring on the AT and some light off-roading but I'll keep the KTM for heavier off-roading and rallies.

    Cheers Mudwiz

All it needs now is few more parts and a bit TLC.
I'm making it ready for a few rallies this year, first one end of March in Poland ( http://www.greatescaperally.com/ ) - 3 x days playing on different army grounds ( with roadbooks, GPSes etc.).

But the big one is 27/06-05/07/09 ( http://www.rallye-breslau.com/ ) - 1000 miles through army fields from Germany to Poland.
Very tough, the longest day / section is 300 miles long off-road .

This rally is called Polish Dakar for a reason.

There's someone else from this forum who's joining me ( I hope so ) but I'll let him to reveal himself.

SO GUYS - WHEN IS THE NEXT TRAINING DAY ON S. PLAIN?????

It's probably obvious by now seeing as how we both bought KTM EXCs... but I'm the one whose joining Pole on the rallies... ah well... in for a penny, in for a pound

I have lots of mods to make to the bike before then...
