    May Day bimble to Hastings?

Do forum members put in an appearance at the huge May Day rally in Hastings? I wandered down the Pilgrims' Way last year on my XR but didn't think to keep an eye out for XLVs and XRVs when I got there.

And if not, anyone fancy it?

Oops! Well I did say I didn't look. Had my eye on comely maidens dressed in green being pursued by an animated hedge.

    So what's the plan?

Dont worry... You weren’t the only one who missed the forum meeting... I live in Hastings and also had my eyes elsewhere..

oh and if you’re interested the animated hedge is (Jack in the Green) it’s some sort of pagan mayday ritual.. They go up the castle and dance for a bit then everyone gets to pluck the animated hedge. If you get a twig with leafs it’s supposed to be a promising sign of fertility… (There is also beer)

Still no word on whether this is happening?

    Have we got the banner?

    Are we taking collection boxes?

    Well thanks, but not really.

I've been to Hastings on Spring bank-holiday every year for the last eight years. Besides Jack-in-the-Green there are huge numbers of Morris dancers (!), a race for folk dressed as fish on bicycles, and 20,000 motocyclists. I'll be there in any event, but I am surprised that there is no XRV presence like last year to raise money for TLD.

Vader was behind it last year but he has a lot on and I can't believe no-one else from the forum royalty isn't doing anything.

Are you thinking of going Anton and Twickers? (Where in Twickers? My sister's on Cole Pk Rd.)
