OK peeps, listen up!
DoctorLaw and I swung by the Ace yesterday (Saturday) and parked the bikes facing the caff so that our decals could be seen in their full splendour. I'd guess that fully 50% of the few customers there went up to the bikes and read the details on the front of them, and when DoctorLaw went to chat to them, a few said they would look at the website and one bloke expressed his disappointment that he was busy that weekend.
By contrast, though Ryka's is in a more lovely setting, we didn't even get interest from the other AT rider who turned up.The usual sports-bikers were obviously too bleedin' cool to be curious...
Question is then, if we are looking to raise a few quid and perhaps pick up a straggler or two, would we be better going to the Ace on Thursday? I know it is further for most of the crew who were there last week, but it might be worth it.
Let's have some discussion here...

Ryka's V The Ace, well if the weather is good, Ryka's gets packed but as you say, a high percentage of bikers there are too busy with cool to notice anything other than an R1, GSXR or a Harley. On the other hand, the Ace, most who go there have a bite to eat and a tour round the bikes (like me), maybe the thing to do is alternate, one week at the Ace and one week at Ryka's and even the odd Monday at Fox's too

Given I am equally lost whether heading north or south I am happy to follow the numbers. Experience would suggest that Ace is more likely to generate a response/interest and that seems the more important factor pre ride. Let's make sure we have a collection box this time, even if they won't let us leave it on the counter.
mmm....if I were to choose I would say let's meet at the Ace.....but living about 10 minutes away from it I guess I am biased .....![]()
