Ok,by popular demand and the odd bit of nagging and texts i've been persuaded to organise another laning session.
I Think it's easy to say anyone welcome, whatever your ability or machinery and especially whatever tyre your using.
We'll start at grafton water and work our way via about 20 or more lanes and finish in northampton, depending on the preceding weeks weather all the lanes are dry and firm and easily do-able with most tyres as long as they have a bit of tread, that is to say you don't have to have TKC's or knobblies. If you are equipped however, you will obviously be able to do some parts that others have to skip around the edges of but there will be plenty of support available and advice if needed.
Most are mud, some are gravel and there's a field full of sheep that is followed by grass 3 foot high so it has a bit of everything except rocks and swamp.
Some of the lanes are faster than others, some have options on technical difficulty and most are just good fun where you can get the feel for your bike and test your own ability and build some experience. If you want to repeat a lane because you had a blast or just want to try something difficult because you did the easy bit and fancy the hard bit it's not a problem as we'll have time. There's no leader no one in charge just a bunch of blokes having a laugh.
These lanes are used by the local constabulary on drz's and was witness to the lead instructor riding with trailwings of all things the other day so come on down and gets some dust on your bike.
The meet start will be on the A1 at about 09:30 so easily reached and the finish will be 5 minutes from the M1 so easy to get home from at about mid to late afternoon. we'll stop for a sarnie and a brew along the way and If the day goes smoothly and quickley there's even the option of a ford that's 2 foot deep and 100 yards long with a bend and you can wash the bike off the easy way at the end of the day.
I'm going to suggest The 19th of this month to give time for some brownie point earning, bike fettling and shift arranging so before I put it in the callendar can we have a show of hands?.............................
ps. non forum members welcome, mates of mates and all sexes welcome,if you just want to have a go then the more the merrier.
