Damn and blast! Caught out again!

Okay, to be fair the work commitments are Rachel's. With the Irish economy in absolute tatters (don't believe what you read in the papers) there's now roughly no chance of getting a job here in the Republic - at least not for a Chartered Engineer that knows his way around a power station.

    Anyway, how's tricks?

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Last year it cost me £50 from Portsmouth to Le Havre and return from Boulogne to Dover.
Your best bet would be to enquire about the cost of a return from a Port near to you.

Phil, I've just moved house and won't have broadband for a couple of weeks. As soon as I do, I'll trawl through all the crossings and let you know.

I often cross with LD Lines from Portsmouth to Le Havre (but booking a sleeper couch is essential) and return from Boulogne to Dover also with LD Lines.

Should have broadband at home soon, but I'm fed up with waiting (so I'm using the connection at work).

    The plan is:
Thursday 3rd June, LD Lines from Portsmouth to Le Havre at 11pm. (Sleeper seat is essential!)
Monday 7th June, LD Lines from Boulogne to Dover at 5pm

Total cost of the ferries is £50.50 (for a bike plus rider), plus £16 for the sleeper seat (per person).

That gives us three full days in Normandy, plus a pleasant 230 mile trip across northern France on Monday.

Please let me know by the end of this week is you're definately coming and I'll book my ferry tickets.

    James

I'm still definitely up for it, and as before I will be making my own ferry arrangements, as Newhaven port is 3 minutes away from me.

I'm gonna speak to Jeff Kirby regarding times and book asap.

I've tried to find the cost for a morning ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe on Friday 4th June, returning on the same route on Monday afternoon, but the only option I'm getting is for a car, not a bike. Any idea what the cost is?
