I'll play if the dates work.
Oh, and lanes by night are awesome! (Even with my candle, I mean "headlamp"!)
I think I am OK on any of these dates.. I am not that far..
Anything happening 7/8th August ?
hopefully this!!!
Im still up for a weekend of trail riding. I will be heading back over to Llangollen and doing a few of the trails I have'nt done before on Sunday (already that way for my father in laws birthday in Ruabon, so only 5 miles from the trails). Each time I head over that way I tend to do the same trails so it will be good to see the others that are there.
Anyone fancy joining me? It will be my last chance before the planned 7/8th August.
Next week I am off up to Scotland for a weeks touring on the @ and the week after that I have a family holiday planned in Turkey.
Had a good morning riding a few more of the trails that I havent done before. Some good ones, and some difficult. I know most of the local to Llangollen routes now (still one or two that I need to get to). Should be able to plan a really good route taking in lots of trails if people are still OK for the 7/8th August.![]()
Sorry but can't make the August dates, just back from mi hols.![]()
I am still OK for 7/8 August.. Anyone else ?
Yup, pencil me in. Gives me a kick up the bum to get my front wheel rebuilt. Spokes look ready to pull through the holes. I have tourances on at the moment, are they adequate for the trails you are planning? If not, I have a spare front with a Heidenau on, so I would get a matching rear. Haven't taken it off-road yet, so your advice welcome.
Tim.
Hello Tim, never seen a tourance in the flesh. Just had a quick look on the web and I think they are road biased tyres (anyone with more knowledge wish to comment??). The trails we will be doing are rock, mud, moorland, forest tracks, grass etc etc....a mixture of surfaces.
Ive been running TKC80's until now. Rear was too worn so Ive replaced both with K60's. Ive been told they are just as good off road. Before I replaced my rear TKC was badly worn - so more like a road tyre and I managed OK last weekend....but it was dry.
Heres some threads showing the terrain.

Just had another look at your photos and I think the muddy trails are beyond the Tourances capability (at least in my hands). Looks like a good chance to try the Heidenaus, haven't used them yet. Do you know what they are like on tarmac, in the wet? I have a nearly new front, do you know of a good supplier for a rear in the north west? Thanks. Tim.
