    Jolly Sailor - Ripley- A3

Anyone here use this Pub for meets ?
Being part of the TVR Car Club, we have attended the Jolly Sailor for many years... that was until Wed last week.

Turned up as usual, ended up waiting for about 1 1/2 hours for food. Food arrived.. not up to the usual standard. Landlord / Manager came over and started to whine about the TVR's in the Carpark.. then picked on the one smoker in our group saying it was a "Non Smoking area". We asked to be moved to a smoking area.. rather than segregate our friend, only to be given a spot really close to the fire .. Landlord came back over and moaned about the car clubs that meet (funny, its the first time in almost 3 years.. and he usually doesnt mind our money.)
After a few harsh words between us and the Landlord, we left... never to return. I have never been spoken to like that in my entire life.... I know other motorbike groups meet at the pub.. I will be goign along to a few of these to see if they get the same reception before I start writing my letters of complaint to the Brewrey.

I usually go to The Big Trail Bike Club meeting there on the first Tuesday of each month. I missed the last one but I gather our group also had some problems with the new landlord. I haven't had the full story yet.

Shame. Looks like his takings are going to be going down.

I'd certainly write to the brewery and perhaps post back here as to what they say.
