    Thanks for the reply. I knew it wasn't Slippery Sam or any of the other Triumph BSA works bikes from the number but it looks rather like the 250mm Fontana front brake the production bikes used in the early days. I am sure if I saw it blown up I would have had no doubts about who it was but i don't know if I'd have recognised the Honda six from that angle. Many thanks

    I'm sure that it is the incredible Mike Hailwood on a Honda 6 pot in the early sixties, did you think it was slippery sam? I tried to load it to photobucket and send it to you, but, having just replaced the pute we find our files are all over the place, so I'll send it on asap.
