Hi Kjell, I wondered if you could help me out with something, there is a bike I am interested in , it is in Sweden, registered there. How difficult would it be to bring back to the UK? it is a Yamaha XG250 Tricker, difficult to get anywhere now, unless you know of anymore in Sweden. Thanks - Pat my email is happypatking@gmail.com

Hi Kjell, thanks for the kind words on the 907. Did you see my request for original brake pipes for the RD03 ?. I dont lkike the look/fit of the braided ones and have a contact that can make 100% original in every way rubber lines. I want to source some original ones so he can copy them. I dont know if anybody else would put thier lines back to original rubber ones if they could but i'd like to try to give Rd03 owners the option.

I had a look on e bay throughout the world and there are a lot of bits in germany but annoyingly none of them seem to post to the uk

Do you have any original front lines - fittings/rubber lines/metal line ?? I'll gladly pay you for them and i can get some new ones made.

    Thanks again

    Kind regards

Hi Kjell, my e mail is

    ianholliday1@ntlworld.com

I thought of something, when i pulled the carbs apart i didnt touch the air correction/mixture screw, then i thought that these were set to the original restricted inlets so surely these should be reset to match the new inlet rubbers ??.

The screws were set at 2 1/2 for one side and 3 1/4 for the other compared to 2 1/8 base setting. i've just got a set of vacuum gauges so i can balance mine and set mixture. failing that i have off e bay for £25 a set of 4 coils (from an rd04 as the one i bought from honda superseeded to a 750 coil anyway. i also have a compression tester to check engine compression. failing all this i have roadkills carbs in front of me, he very kindly sent them to me to try, so i can try those and see if any of the above makes a difference ??

thanks again Kjell. i'll use your specs on my carbs and go from there.

    fingers crossed.

    thanks again

    kind regards

Hi Kjell, thanks for all your help so far on my RD03.As you have probably seen i have a misfire at 5000 - 6000 rpm.I fitted a new airbox rubber as the old one was damaged and leaking air in. i really didnt want to start disconnecting cables and removing carbs then having them balanced etc etc. i was more than happy to run it for a year then completely strip it.I took the chokes out and theyre clean, the choke lever flicks back about 1/3 then you have to push it back the rest of the way, is this correct?. i was going to order the blanking caps off wemoto and eliminate the choke. next i thought it might be fuel pump not running right a high revs ??? My last resort is to take the carbs off remove the float bowls and see if there is any crap floating about in there ?? what do you think ?? which do you think its most likely to be ???

sorry to keep asking you but you seem yo know you RD03's. In one way i hope we never meet as i must owe you a lot of beers by now.

    thanks again

    Hi Kjell

I would like to thank you for the xrv650 ID info. I want to inform you, that I and some friends have created a web site regarding xrv650, (www.xrv650story.eu). The scope is, to provide the xrv650 owners and fans, with the ability to find gathered all the necessary info regarding the xrv650. I want to believe that this is only the beginning and there will be people with good grace to share their knowledge and experiences.
Persons like you, with "an in depth knowledge" of the object, can contribute a lot to the development of the site. It would be wonderful, if you could write a small article about the model ID, in order to help the xrv650 owners to find the identification of their own model.
If you have a web page of your own we can have its link in our site. Otherwise we're asking for your permission to promulgate the info that you have provided, in our web site.

    Waiting for your news.
