Hi Taffman I have just read you notes on my Photo regarding the Givi bars, basically yes I had a problem with them at first. I tried to fit them without changing the sleeve and that didnt work so I did as the instructions said and it worked fine. I do remember having an issue with the spring for the main stand and I think I turnrd the spring around which moved the main body of the spring away from whatever it was rubbing on, sorry I cant remember exactly but Im sure thats what I did and to date I have had no problems at all. My bike is a 2006 650 V6 which I doubt is any different from yours Dont give up on them coz I think they are the best looking bars out there Good luck and let me know if I can help anymore.
