Well, I like the Stelvio, I checked one out at the Scottish bike show, it looks fresh and cool. I'm not sure I could live with one but certainly different. Some bits look really good but as Chad says, those bug eyed lights are,,, well,,,, different! LOL!
The exhausts can be changed, I think it's a CAT issue that makes them so large and ugly but they've been having issues with emission laws recently.
Not for me but I can see what others see in the bike.

Re: . . . and its new replacement!

well gang ,, test drove the stelvio on friday, nice bike, i have alway's liked italian bikes, took it out for about an hour, tried my hardest to like it but it wasn't for me.!!

it restored my faith in the varadero, i'm hanging on till honda make a 1200 cc twin with shaft drive! when that will be??? if anyone out there has any news, please!!!

so why didnt i like it:-
the seat is like sitting on a scaffold board , minute i sat on it i was dissapointed,
    vibrates through the complete bike,
red lined it twice trying to get it up to speed, (never red lined the varadero )
wind protection from the screen , not as good as vara.
    no heated grips!!

    what i did like:-
    much lighter than a vara,
    rear end lights look great!!

but that's only my opinion, and i hope no one is offended by my comments.

I've looked at this bike again and actually it's grown on me a bit. It's not THAT bad looking

Re: . . . and its new replacement!

I saw one in town last week, the same colours as the one in the photos. What struck me was that yes, Moto Guzzi's designers must've given a tip of the hat to BMW, although I think they've done shaft drive and mono swing arms for just as long. What really struck me though was how small it looked, compared with a GSA that I inspected not long ago, a bike on which even I felt slightly small!
