    Berlin Policeforce drives,,, Moto Guzzi

    Yes it's the truth.

The Berliner Police choose to buy Moto Guzzi Norge 850. (35 of them)

Brave choise, considering Berlin is the Hometown of BMW motorcycles.

Equipped to Police spec by Baumeister & Trabandt GmbH:

I think a lot of the choice is due to the finances.
Maybe BMW did not offer a decent discount on the bulk buy.
All forces have to finance for the servicing and running of the vehicles, Maybe Moto Guzzi offered a better long term deal.

The police have to rotate the supplier of their vehicles, they normally rotate Audi BMW VW but with bikes they have had to stick with BMW, to break the monopoly they have sourced something European that fits the spec

    good on the procurement team

(oh and Berlin is miles away from Bavaria, closer to MZ hometown)

Sounds a good idea and its not the first time the Germans have used Italian vehicles [ note: Do not mention the war] who knows what could be next Triumph's perhaps

Do you have any insight as to why they have to rotate the vehicles? I would have thought it would have been a headache for the maintenance side of things, I presume like the uk they do their own servicing ?
