    V-Strom

One of these caught my eye on the car park the other day… have any of you had any experience of them?

I liked the look of it and it pretty much suits my criteria....

is it the TL motor by chance?

Great bike, it is a detuned TL1000S engine

The 650 V Strom is incredibly good i rode one this summer, it feels like a modern Africa Twin very comfortable with a peach of an engine.

Just Suzuki build quality would worry me a bit, nothing wrong with the engines, and they allways build the best gearboxes. But the rest looks secondhand very quickly finish and build quality not in Honda,s league

Odd that eh? I've never had a Suzuki, but I've always felt that way about them. That they just dont have the same quality as a Honda or a Yam.

Only one I've really had experience of was a Bandit 600 3 years ago when I got pranged off my Fazer I had at the time. Dreadful, dull and slow. And I'm sure it weighed just as much as the Vara!

Saying that though I did manage to pick up my only points on my licence so far on it!

I do like the look of the 1000 Strom's though, but not really much to choose between that and a Vara though really is there? The 650 might definitely be worth a go though.

Was thinking more towards the 1000 version for extra ponies when 2up...
The old @ struggles from 80+ ...... not that I want to blat around at those speeds.... just want to be able to do it without killing a good bike...

Only problem with the V-Strom is its "ugliness" ..... just dont know if I could take to something with huge dollop of plastic hanging of its front end......

Please Honda...... re-run the Africa Twin with a 900 motor....

All the Stroms just look like those Super Scooter things when in traffic.

Stroms look fine as long as you're not looking them in the face...

    (and pimped up a bit...)

Vara's, hmm, have to be seen from in the seat I guess.

If you want a 1000 go for a Varadero. Superb bike, i have an Africa and Vara but to be frank i am now much preffering the Vara especially now it is winter !!!!

You get what the V Strom 1000 does but also Honda quality.
