    Re: 1150GS Clutch

Gear change is fine no problems.
In fact I was worried about the gearbox on the Beemer as people said they were agricultural but its as good as the Honda, now I know Honda's are brilliant in this department and no-one seems to make gearboxes like Suzuki but I've not had a single missed gear or anything on the GS.
    Forum help and advice needed?

I have had 7 BMWs and have to say never had trouble using the gearbox except perhaps the 1972 R60/5 that had really-really loud gearchange and the R1100RS that was loud as well, then was replaced with one that was silenced down with rubber spacers but was difficult to change and "luckily" seized up altogether: The third one and the one on the '96 R1100RT were really good again, despite all the bad things you here about them. Mind you, the 1150 boxes were introduced as major upgrades to the 1100's so I bet they should be alright.

Ironically, the box on my Yamaha TDM 850 reminds me of that BMW R60/5 again, esp the clunk when engaging 1st gear but apparently is "normal" for TDMs
