    I Need some help guys.

Hey guys, I need some help so if anyone can spare the time to point me inthe right direction then I'd really appreciate it.

2 weeks ago I got back from my night shift at the fire station only to find that some kids had pinched my XL600 RMG PD-08 (1988 Italian import). I've since had it returned to me, minus a few parts! Those that did it will, no doubt, be sent on a holiday to help them come to terms with the trauma of being a thief, or whatever is the latest lunatics idea of the best way to deal with thieves these days is?!!

Feel better for getting that out!

Anyway I need to source some stuff. I've called David Silver spares and the prices were pretty scarey so I thought I'd ask here in case any of you can help.

I need to find the following:
    Front and rear indicators
    Rear tail light lense
    side panel (battery side)
    headlight
    headlight cowl
    mirrors
    speedo
    speedo cable
    rev counter
    battery
    2 new levers

I'm not looking for freebies but at 33 quid plus vat for 1 mirroe from David Silvers I can't afford to put the beast back on the road so if anyone has any of the above for sale or, if anyone can point me in the right direction as to where I can source any of it then I'd be forever in you debt.
I'm struggling to find stuff for it and the fact that it is an Italian import doesn't seem to be helping.

    Thanks in advance folks

    Andy

Can`t help with the actual parts but it`d be far cheaper to get pattern indicators and maybe even an aftermarket headlamp cowl from the like of PoliSport , UFO or Acerbis if you don`t mind non-Honda parts.

Likewise the battery , mirrors and levers...you don`t HAVE to get Honda parts.

Hi Tarka, thanks for replying mate, I happy to go for after market parts so long as they fit to be honest, I just don't seem to be able to find them

As the insurance company let me have the bike back for 230 quid it is only WORTH 230 quid in their eyes now so, with that in mind, I'm just trying to get it back together for as little as poss. I suppose another option could be to fit different clocks etc.

Hi Barrie, I've not tried breakers to be honest as I don't know of any and, I guess I'd sort of guessed that none of them would be familiar with this model. If you have any good contacts for breakers I'd appreciate any numbers. I was given the number of a chap called Ray Berry who, I'm told, imports these bikes or used to?

As for the thieves, well, the Bobby who took my statement told me that they can only "invite" the little gits to come to the Police station and not make them so, should they decline this invitation then that's about it! Not his fault just another example of the idiotic laws made and approved by people who live safely behind 12 foot fences!
Sadly, he wasn't allowed to give me their names either! When I was that age I was in the Army, not stealing other people's hard earned stuff!

    thanks again mate

your on the web try motorcycle dismantlers /salvage
    bike breakers
they do mail order and cash on delivery if parts are not right you can return them
the lads are usually very knowledgable so talk ask questions they may have a website of partslisted or e-mail where you can give the info you put on this page
    or good old yellow pages

    Andy,

    Sorry to hear this, brother.

You might try a periodic look at italian ebay. You might find your parts there.

Can't help much unless you need something from the USA.

Over here, we keep the motorcylcles inside next to the ladder truck. Maybe you blokes have different rules. Even so, maybe ask your officer for an exception.

    Good Luck,

Re: I Need some help guys.

Hi Ray, our boss does let us put motorcycles in the bay but on this occasion I was taking a chair to work for one of the guys and running late so I left the bike at home and took the people carrier instead. I'll never leave it outside again.
I did try Italian ebay and there certainly seems to be some parts there, just need me a translator now

    Stay safe

Well boys and girls, I found most of the bits I need now just got to try to get her going again!! The button don't work but she turns over if you shove a large screwdriver in the starter solenoid??

I live in Camberley, Surrey. Anyone know of anyone who takes this type of work on? I could use the skills of an expert to get her running and serviced again.......I really miss her!!
