'02 KTM 620 Adventure

Found lots of stuff about KTM 640s on ADV etc and whilst they're generally well rated people do regularly mention the reliability/maintenance, mainly in so much as they need a bit more tlc than a Honda. Anyone got any experience of the older 620? Have read with respect to the 950/990 that some of the earlier bikes, we're only talking 5-6 years old, had more issues, would the 620 be similarly less developed?

I'm guessing that as they're both LC4 engines they're basically the same. Are KTM parts, especially for older models, easily available and reasonably priced??

Questions, questions...

Love the Tranny but the promise of WP suspension, more performance and mx type plastic (amongst others) appeals.

Just been ogling the description again, perhaps it is actually a 640 just the engine size is 620. Know nothing about KTM model histories...

all the KTM's look fantastic and there is no question the sky is limit with goodies but they are the most service hungry bike ever made, i know of guy who has to spend £150+ before EVERY enduro (just one dayers even) getting the bike 'sorted' or he never finished!... this is ridiculous, unless your a big team with deep pockets and good sponsors then personally i would avoid KTM like the plague.

Had picked up a bit of a vibe along those lines, do you think the service hunger applies to the adventure models as much as the more competition orientated models?
