    Alp to Cagiva navigator

    I have been seduced
found that whilst I couldnt fault my Alp I also coundnt grow to love it
It did everything verry well but lacked ,for me ,that special wow factor
so after 2 years and many uneventful miles I have sold her with minimal financial loss.
    What to get next
tried a vstrom and a capinord both nice but big and heavy
    Then I found her
A Cagiva Navigator Y reg 8k miles and mine for £1900 Deal done
what is she like you ask
whell shes got the TL1000 motor in but with the cagiva program in the ECU to get rid of the suzuki clutch shudder so she goes like the Alp on steroids more power than you need
for example on the alp you are on a country road at legal speed 75ish in top and you spot a gap you accelerate to get past but have to hold your breath till it picks up speed and hope the gap is big enough
with the navigator you are past the first cage and the second one and she is still pulling like a train
    and the noise
every time you open her up it goes BARRRRRR and puts a smile on my face.
The riding position apears to fit my 6 1 average height verry well with a slightly more forward bias on the seatingposition which i find more comfortable
brakes are Nissin same as on the early ST1100 ,and Vfr750 so no problems there
    Handleing
this is a road bike in the big supermoto mold and with radial avon storms sticks like a limpet in the dry, not tried it in the wet yet.
    power
have i mentioned the power its addictive
every hump or dip in the road is a take off ramp
wheelies in the first 3 gears with very little encouragement.

Just need to take it on a long run now to realy get used to it and find the annoying bits

1st anoyance is the dash, speedo its so small and the MPH scale is in dark red on a black background and No clock or fuel guage

but the power did I mention the power wow its great

so any body else out there had one or still got one?

BIG cagiva fan (until they go tits up anyway! and you will know it when you want spares )... had the chance to chop my baby cagiva for a navi severial years back and didn't which i always regret.

no big fan of 'style' over content, but that is gorgeous!!!! ( ok so the headlight is ugly as sin but that seams to be the law now )

I know garages that won't do Gagiva repairs because they don't want the things taking up valuable floorspace for weeks on end, while waiting for spares to arrive! I love some of the Gag's but they are really more collectors bikes than riders bikes.(only my opinion, what do I know )

Hi, Glad to hear that you are enjoying the Cagiva Phil.

Any chance of various pics of your steed and a full rundown of how you are getting on with the bike now that you have had it a little while (good/bad points, power etc ).

Of course, feel free to pop along to any meetups we have in future

    Re: Alp to Cagiva navigator

Just looking at what I wrote earlier and it looks like I'm slating Gagivas generally ?.No the bikes are fabulous,it's just that I have to take a bikes reliability/ease and speed of repair and basic lifespan into account for my kind of use.I've got other bikes but it's my @'s that just keep on going and going and goi.......... (truth is if I had an ounce of faith I'd be on a 990 Adventure all day every day,but I love knowing that I'll be getting home from every run I do.So it's @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ )
