SEROW GOOOOOOD, SEROW CHEAPPPPPP, SEROW RELIABLEEEEEEEE. Very nice engine, very low seat, lots of grab handles for pulling backwards or forwards out of ditches. Lots of shared parts with UK models too.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

yep its a good little bike and often a first choice for women riders as you correctly say its got a low seat height. (full specs i posted in a similar thread in this section about 3 months back!)... one gripe a lot of people say is that the 225 is underpowered a bit so look for the later (2005 on) 250 if the budget can stretch.

there was a great serrow owners club on angelfire.com too with buckets full tips from both uk owners and ones around the world to help keep the wee beasties on the dirt and out the breakers!!!

been lead to beleive later models were 'unofficially' reworked in the BMW design studio to iron out the glitches, reality was they got a too fancy with spoked tubeless rims and masses of sensors and pain the arse electronics. Oddly enough the jap builds never got the bmw treatment so look for an import if your after an 1993-'04.

Great trail bike. Find a clean later one (leccy start) and it won't let you down. Gets out of shape on quicker going and can get stuck in deep ruts but laugh as you sail past everyone on those rocky climbs and the low running costs are good as well.

I had one for three years and it absolutely amazed me. Go anywhere trail-bike and great for those with short(ish) legs.

Both Barftone and myself used them after damaging ourselves as a stepping stone back to other trail bikes, I would have another anytime.

What better recomendation, Bob stuffs his bikes with extreme predjudice into all sorts of holes, ruts and water features and they have to survive intact and be ready for the next crash.
