    Re: Dr Big

    I have a DR800 and absolutely love it! It's a fantastic bike!

Mine has been heavily tuned by the previous owner. It now has 62 BHP instead of 50. This has been achieved by fitting a flowed head, a stage one crankshaft, KN filter and Produro Rally Exhaust (open, with baffler).

It goes like mad, and is an absolute blast to ride. I've done 400km days on the DR and you will be sore. Also, riding above 80km/h for long stretches is not great. The screen is inadequate and you get some heavy buffeting.

All that said, it makes me smile every time I start the bike. I love the look (BMW stole it), and it corners like a supermotard.

They're rare bikes, cheap, and you won't regret owning one. Just take real good care of it (especially the frame, which rusts quickly, get it powdercoated!).

    Have fun,

    JB

Boys don't suffer so much from headaches so we don't notice the difference

It's some time since I asked the question and have 'decided' on many other bikes since, and probably many others to come! Got quite excited about an XTZ600 locally but it was sold before I could have a look.

Thanks for the enthusiastic reviews, I've always had a fascination with things done differently and the Dr Big certainly fits that description it seems...

    Cheers
    David
