found a yammy ttr 250 in local paper,, any good bearing in mind that i have just passed my restricted test..and 17 lol... any one had one delt with them? is it a go or a no go?ta guys/gals

They are fab little bikes, go any where, and I do mean that! They are pretty robust - almost XR250 style, and have an electric start. is it a newer Blue one, or an older white/purple version?

The older ones have a reputed achillies heel with the starter system, although it didn't happen to mine.

Good little rally bikes, maybe rebuilt rear suspension if old, new oil in forks, 600-1000 mile oil/filter changes, keep battery charged (helps prevent starter issue) and they are pretty bombproof.
