The reference bible for old bikes of this era, particularly German ones, is the Encyclopaedia by Erwin Tragatsch, who listed every last one of them (allegedly). The Bolbros is not listed, and I haven`t heard of it either, and I`m pretty sad when it comes to knowing about old bikes like this. My guess is that the plaque was added by the owner, but it`s not the make of the bike. There were any number of companies in the 50`s in Germany making small utility 2 strokes, usually using engines from Kreidler, Sachs, Viktoria, EMC, Adler, DKW etc
You could trawl through all of them here A-Z of historic classic vintage veteran motorcycles motorbikes encyclopaedia museum dictionary index list tragatsch and see if you can find something similar
Hi,
At the moment I'm facing the same problem. I'm in Cape Town right now and today I was offered a Bolbros bike, one of only two known in this area. There's one in Cape Town and this one about 40 kms outside of Cape Town. About 25 years ago it was restorated but never used, and now the owner wants to get rid of it. I also can't find anything on the bike, but tomorrow I'm visiting one of my German contacts here who has a encyclopedia of German motorcycles from late 1800 till 1970 I believe. If news pops up I'll let you know. Sofar I only have some pics, but I haven't found out yet how to post them here.
Cheers
Ben

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
