    Honda MSX 125

I thought it was a bit greedy to have two tick tock threads going so........

On Saturday I popped into the local honda dealer to collect some bike cleaner and they had Honda's new monkey bike type thing as a demo bike....

long story cut short.... I took it out on a test ride, bearing in mind its a basic 4 stroke, 125 cc with a 4 speed gearbox and a top speed around 60 mph I was absolutely wetting myself laughing from the minute I got on it till the minute I got off.

once home I googled the bike and bearing in mind its only been out a short while, the amount of carbon fibre, big bore kits, performance pipes and bling available is brilliant, so on Tuesday I ordered a black one!! only downside is Honda uk have sold out and I have to wait until October for delivery!

Is this supposed to be the MSX, saw this a while ago, some good videos about on the net and looks a great laugh.

    hi guys,

Ever since I saw this bike I knew I had to try one, so today I took one home for the weekend! You never know I may just have to buy it as my commuter tool and fun bike!

    Honda MSX125 Grom

Rode it home the 21 miles from work and giggled all the time! Its draws soo much attention and its fun!

Surprisingly roomy for my 1.85m 98kg body! Engine pulls strong for a 125! Gearing is good, brakes fine and its soo light you ride it like a GP bike!

Will do a proper test ride tomorrow....

    cant wait!

    Re: Honda MSX 125

monkey bikes are pure giggle machines. i've had 40+ bikes up to now but the one which i had the biggest grin on was on my old 1972 Z50a monkey bike. everything was standard but the engine was bored to 88cc with cams and a NosWizard nitrous kit. i've lost count at the amount of gti's etc iv'e surprised at traffic lights . 3 speed auto with quickshifter using a micro switch on the gear lever. i flipped it once at the local high street showing off (as you do!) in second gear flicking on the nitrous. it was geared for 80 in top with nitrous but never dared. basic tyres and 70's drum brakes didnt inspire bravery. kept up well with traffic on the local bypass though.it was a blast. i had to sell it when i moved here but i have regretted it ever since. you have just brought back memories with your post. i'm sure you wont regret buying the msx. your bank balance will suffer when you see all the goodies you can get for it.

    cheers,

    mark
