Re: Anyone going from Manchester-ish on friday night?

I will be leaving my place - Garstang between Preston and Lancaster - sometime late afternoon. Could meet at Forton Services, or even at my house if any one wants a cuppa. Would aim to be away before 6.00pm (work permitting) coz the nights are drawing in now and I hate putting tents up in the Dark - they always seem colder

Cool

I am currently rota'd on as duty sol for Oldham on friday night but if my evil plans come to fruition then i will swap this away and be free for coming up to the meet!

if however my plan doesn't work then i'll be stuck by the phone and will have to bomb up on saturday morning!

is there a post with a plan of action for the day??

I finish work at 5 so joining you at 6 would be cool if poss LV - i'll let you know as soon as poss!

Cheers Austin but i think early afternoon will be too early for me!

thanks

Z

Re: Anyone going from Manchester-ish on friday night?

I'm not sure what is happening yet for times as my nephew doesn't finish work 'til after 6 so may come back down to Preston or Manchester for him. If this is the case I'll try and meet up with whoever is going up later on Friday.

Austin, any idea what time you may be at Forton and I'll try and work around that.

TA!

As its about 3 miles from my house and I can sneak in the back way, if you want to meet I can be there work permitting. I am aiming to "work from home" friday if I can - so that'll be a 3.00pm finish after a 2 hour lunch and 10.00 am start. If I can't work from home I shan't be back 'til 5ish but will be able to get back out in less than 1 hour.

But seriously the latest I would want to leave Forton would be 6.30 as its about 1hr 15 to Dent as I would like to get there before dark so I don't end up camping in a cow pat, or in a puddle, or on a horrible lumpy bit. I am fussy where I will put my tent.

We could just say 6pm at Forton for a 6.15 departure regardless. Anyone who's passing can be there if they want.

And as previous post you are all welcome to call in for a cuppa if that's a bit late - PM me for directions.

Re: Anyone going from Manchester-ish on friday night?

Sorry Austin, looks like I'll be going up early on Friday as everything should be out of the way by end of Thursday. My nephew is being brought up to Devils on Friday night by car now. We'll all have to have a mass ride back on Sunday as most will probably be coming back down this way at the same time.

Have a good ride up & see you there. Shel
