    National 2011 Trail ride

I'll be heading into the Welsh hills on Saturday 10th whilst at the National. Happy to lead anyone that wants a trail ride. Wasnt sure whether to stick this here or in the rideouts sections...so mods feel free to move where you think is suitable.

Looking for about 10 riders max. Reason, a few of the trail entrances are near houses so dont want to upset anyone with loads of bikes tearing past.

Check out this thread for typre of terrain (although the mud photos requires a 3 mile detour along a trail which leads to a dead-end...so unsure if this is part of this ride). Ive seen a few more trails on the maps that I havent done before so may include these as well.

    Possible National Trails - Betws-y-Coed

Looking for riders who have previously been off road. Route is not suitable for beginners I'm affraid or road based tyres. Lots of different surfaces, rocks, mud, forest and could be difficult on anything but dual purposes tyres (but I'll let you be a judge of your skill on this one). A couple of steep ascents and descents as well.

Aim to leave by 09:30 on the Saturday. Route is about 100 miles but can be tailored on the day depending on how we get on.

Get your name on this thread if interested. Any bike welcome. I'll be on a KTM 950 (hopefully! UPDATE : no chance, still in bits!!! @ it is).

Could also lead a 1 way rideout on the Sunday from the campsite to Llangollen, obviosuly means loaded with kit........but thats what these adventure bikes are made for!!!

Hmmm I'd like some offroad but I'm an absolute chicken on mud so I'll pass on this one.

Just want to point out that there isnt that much mud on this trail route......the mud photos on the thread I posted are most likely on a trail that we wont go up (unless anyone wants to, its approx a 6 mile round trip as the trail goes to a dead end!!! Good fast trail though).

    Mike.
I'll be there. Falls on a weekend off luckily. Tim will be home this Saturday so hopefully you'll get a reply from him as well at the weekend.

    Cheers

    Hi Mike,

Count me in, please. Haven't booked the National yet, but will probably do so soon. Just got back, so will catch up when I get a chance.

    Tim.
