THe suggestions so far are Salisbury plains,
http://www.hit-the-dirt.co.uk/
or a location in Wales (but not researched yet)
It looks like from the poll that most would be happy with in-house training so we could probably keep costs down.
A weekend may help members from further away as they wont have to ride long distances then off road then ride home

Just looked at the website and if we can arrange for some training there, it looks promising. We could then go for a rideout on Salisbury Plain on the Sunday - or people could choose to stay on this track if they wanted more practice.
It closes at 4pm from 1 April, which would give us a chance to get cleaned up and have a BBQ or whatever.

I'm happy to go with the flow, that weekend idea with a BBQ in the evening sounds good followed by a ride out on the Sunday before going home. I'd need to travel down on the Friday night and I'm sure Pete (Knobby101) would be up for this too
In 2006 I went to Norway for an off-Road Touring Club weekend www.otc-mc.org/english/ and they hired a MotoCross track for the Saturday. It was great to see big capacity trail bikes, mostly BMWs but a few ATs and Transalps as well, being put through there paces. As it was in the middle of a two week tour I was, unlike a few unlucky souls, not keen to trash my transport home. But I now wish I'd been more adventurous!
On the back of the various posts about off-roading I contacted www.moncktonshoot.co.uk/the-motocross-track/ & www.apexmotocross.co.uk/index.php to enquire about the XRV lot using it exclusively. As soon as I have any further info I'll throw that into the ring as well (if thats alright?).
