The Haberdashers Arms in Knighton could suit. It's pretty basic, with just toilets but it's free if you drink in the pub.

It's biker friendly, but phone ahead to check they're actually open during the week.

It's a very small pub. Ten people fill the bar and the whole pub is filled if there's more than about 20 people in it.

    I've stayed there several times.

NB If you click on the link to the map, don't be fooled by the red circle. The pub is half a mile to the north east of the canal.

    Thanks for help.

You might have heard we ended staying in someones garden, pitching in the dark, with the infamous chickens.

I did not see them until the morning, just thought the strange noises were coming from lowflyers tent during the night.

Maybe it was him, but he blamed the chickens.
