    Bring your waterproofs

    The BBC weather is not looking too good for the National. One or two spots of rain - not that you'll be able to see them as the visibility will be so poor.

    Midday Tuesday: Since I posted this morning, Thursday has got worse (one drop to two) but Saturday just got a lot better.

    I'm not taking this as gospel as, of course, weather can change so quickly, but the Met Office is showing the following for 0700 Weds to 0700 Thurs for the sea around the IOM:

    Wind South or southwest 6 or 7, decreasing 5 for a time, then increasing 6 to gale 8 later.
    Sea state Rough.
    Weather Rain at times.
    Visibility Moderate or good.

    I am not looking forward to that crossing - although the SeaCat probably won't go in those conditions, and the conventional ferry might only be a possibility? Hmm, wonder if I'll even get off-island if those weather conditions continue
