National 2007- Proposed route from Somerset / South Wales.

As Cie has posted a route from Wiltshire to the National meet I thought I would post my route for people going from further West. All are welcome to join us along the way.

From Somerset over the Severn Bridge to Chepstow.

    A466 through Monmouth to Hereford.

A49 past Ludlow, Church Stretton, Shrewsbury, Whitchurch, Warrington to Preston.

A6 past Garstang to join A683 to Sedbergh.

    Burnham-on-Sea to Sedbergh - 247 miles

Riding time 5hrs 40mins plus breaks.

If we get delayed for any reason we also have the option of joining the M6 at Warrington and doing a quick blast for the last 70 miles.

Excellent thread McV. You southerners really like to be prepared.

I'm hoping to find my way to the National meet using the following directions.

Out of the door. Head west on public roads for about 120 miles. Turn into the campsite. Riding time 2 hours 47 and 3/4 minutes.

Having said that, I might change my mind and go by another route.

Great! I'll probably join you. The usual Chepstow meeting point is here:

    "Wye Valley Link Road"

If we met at 10:30 we should arrive (allowing for stops) at about half past four to five o'clock (ish).

[EDIT] Not able to come to the National, sorry, so won't be meeting you at Chepstow. [/EDIT]
