I'm on the brink of getting bike to bike sorted, and wondered if anyone else is planning to use it at/to the National meet.
If there's enough people using it, we'll get a common and slip freq sorted out.
Anyone?

Yep. Autocom and Motorola.
Whealie (Wing Commander, @ Airborne Division)
Two XRV750-M ('91) RD04s on J ('92) plates.
Laser Pro Duro, crash bars, bark busters, heated grips, GPS, topbox, Alu Boxes, Scotoiler, Starcom, ciggie lighters and XRV stickers.
I am thinking about it.. But have not decided yet which way to go... (autocom/starcom/sonic) So the only answer i can give is Maybe?
Autocom and Alan PMR
Well, I've had the autocom for some time now, it's just deciding which radio to go for. Some of them appear to have CTCSS tones that can only be changed by a dealer. That could be a compatibility problem with others which is why I'm looking for something quite specific.
I know that one of my ham radio handhelds would have the ability to change tones on the radio itself rather than having them fixed to a specific channel.
Ho-hum, the search goes on.
That said, I like Icom

I do have a few spare sets (2 radio's, twin charger, mains power lead, 2 rechargeable batteries, and a pair of head sets) of BT Freeway PMR446 radios that we used for event work/pr work, I bought a bulk batch of 20 to get the price down but we now only need 8 as were upgrading to Yaesu dual band instead... each set £20 plus post at cost if anybody wants them for a bike to bike set up.

Cie, check the frequency allocation for PMR and you;ll find that it's slightly off compared to the Ham H/H tuning of 5khz steps. I tend to use my FT50 for PMR whilst Jen uses the BT freeways, ideal for close range but as soon as you get on the fringes the slight freq difference really does tell. For bike/bike though it shouldn;t be a problem.
