Liverpool (Albert Docks) to Dent - route?

I was going to be going to the UK early and then coming up with the south-west group, but as the ferry crossing prices are too high the weekend before (end of Manx Grand Prix, so prices are double or more normal price), I"m now going to come over from the island straight to the meet-up, then go down to Somerset afterwards for a week.

I'm off work from the Thursday, so anyone heading over from the Liverpool to Heysham/Morecambe areas?

Alternatively, I might take the Wednesday off, and do some local roads if anyone can come up with some, and get to the campsite a day early Any ideas?

Right, as I don't know the north-west at all (being a soft, southern Jessie by origin ), how does this look for a dawdle over to Dent?
