Yes this does happen and I'm not exactly sure why or how.
The one that's displayed on the front page is remembered and the one shown by your avatar is the calculated one and the one which should be correct.

If I stop posting then I'll never get in the top five posters, mind you if I do I'll probably have to sell the AT and buy a GS

Now it keeps forgetting who I am and asks me to log in all the time, I've ticked the box each time, honest.

Mind you Norton AV's doing a background scan now so anthying could happen

I have found the banks to be very reasonable if you phone them and freak out about the charge and threaten to drink glass out of a dirty glass if they don't reverse the charge immediately

Sentinel card protection tried to charge me £20 on one of my credit cards last month whilst I have the whole lot covered through my Lloyds current account for free also with Sentinel. Enquired how they could not possibly know that the two people with exact names who live at the same address with the same cards could not possibly be related on their system - sorry sir we will refund your money immediately with interest lost

Don't worry Mav, grumpy old men have got nothing on me, they usually give in when I say who it is, we've been here before you see

Sarcasm and a bank full of customers on a saturday morning, all nodding in agreement 'cos they've been ripped off the same, works a treat, be afraid (or oh god no it's not him again )
