Not really a forum problem part duex

More a case of one of you clever persons (of a non-gender specific type) might know how even a dumbass like me can scan a whole RD03 workshop manual into a single file (or 7 or 8 seperate files) without each page being 5mb, so far not having much luck other than having to buy Adobe Acrobat writer, which I don't want to do 'cos i'm a tight old git.

Suggestions please, copyright went out the window when Honda told me they didn't do a manual

Copyright is based on simple ownership, the fact that one person in a company says they don't do one doesn't stop them owning any they have produced.

Anyway I will answer the generic question as to how you do a multiple page document that is smaller than the original.

1# Use Adobe or find someone with Adobe, in fact I have adobe and would be willing to take the large size images and optimize them (you'll have to wait till my ADSL migration sometime this week then I can give you an FTP to upload everything to)

2# Use Microsoft word, Insert a picture of a scanned page on each word page, right click on the picture, choose format, then choose compress, from there you'll have to adjust the settings to get the best compresion.

3# try doing a search on 'free pdf creator' there are a few free versions out there that will either directly create a pdf for you or will let you create a pdf using word.

Anyway it is illegal to copy something with a copyright notice attached to it and any info given here is for you to scan in your pretty bike pictures and create a compressed PDF from them. To show you the size difference possible I recently used Adobe compression and dropped a 220mb pdf to 26mb.
