    Why do...

Why do my pics that I insert in posts now appear as links and not as embedded pics?

    Re: Why do...

If you want them as embedded pics the way I do it is to go into the gallery and copy and paste the second link down for the piccie that I want.

Sorry to hijack a thread, but will the second link down give a full size pic rather than the smallsized one that I get with the top link?

Here you go Dave, this is the thread I posted earlier: http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=17043

The pic is the link at the bottom, seems to have been only since we switched to this Forum software.

The second one down [bb code] produces the following:

Ok the reason for this is that the link you've used doesn't end in .jpg or .gif and therefore it's not as far as this forum and most other forums would be concerned an image. You're right in that old forum allowed this type of link, but it was a specific hack I had to research and make, and I did it knowing that it was a security risk. As we moved to a new picture gallery which supported proper image links I've not needed to make the hack on this forum.
And I'd be reluctant to do so to be honest as all said and done its a security risk.
Most picture galleries will also provide a .jpg link anyway so its worth trying to get that.
Hopefully this will make sense to you.
