No idea. It is a widget in Wordpress. I just copied and pasted the MCN RSS feed into the widget and it worked. But it won't work with the xrv RSS

OK, you can't run PHP scripts via a 3rd party...instead you'd need a plugin that downloads the news recompiles it and then displays it instead of trying to display is directly..

Don't understand that.
I just added The Guardian's rss to test it, which worked fine, and now I am seeing one listing under the xrv rss (I have asked for the top five), so maybe it is actually the xrv rss malfunctioning.

Just to say that without me changing anything it sometimes works and often goes down, so I'd say there were serious problems with the xrv RSS feed Dave.

I've been away so I'm just having a look at this again.
I can quite happily add the rss news feed to Firefox and to Outlook and either read them fine.
I will leave going for a few days to see if there's any issues I can see.

BTW vBulletin will only refresh its RSS feed every hour I recall. Not sure if that's got anything to do with it.

I have to say though I'd be very surprised if something was broken with vB's software as its very mature, possible though.

It works fine sometimes, but, for example, I have it on the-zebra.com website and it regularly shows an error, whereas the MCN one never does.

In fact I'd say it has shown an erorr more than it has worked.

I have it on the bookmark bar of Firefox on a Mac and it has not updated for two days.

Right now (8.10 on Saturday) the zebra site link is working - I ma getting:



but the bookmark is still showing this very out of date list:

Just deleted the rss from my toolbar and reinstated it fresh from the site. Now I get:



I'll let you know if it changes from now on. I use several rss feeds on the toolbar and they all work fine.

8.50 and there have been a few more posts and it has not upgraded on the the zebra website or the rss feed on my my bookmark bar, so it is definitely not working as it should

Ok I'll have a play with Wordpress at the same time.
Having written rss feed aggregators before they are a nightmare to cater for all of the little foibles that you see. So it could just be that the RSS feed out of here is a little quirky and some posts are stopping it dead.
I'll see what I can find out.

Is anyone using RSS successfully or otherwise from this site?
