Because sometimes I am wrong, although I never actually admit that, of course.
Most of the mods endorse the moderation of the thread. Giving them a hard time when this whole episode has been hard enough on all of us does not help.
And anyway. You're not getting much DIY done sitting there drinking your expensive coffee putting the world to rights. I don't want to hear another peep out of you until you have decorated something.
I'm going to visit Starcom tomorrow but popping to the garage now for a quick burst of fiddling (both my bikes were born in 1991 so I am allowed)
Whealie (Wing Commander, @ Airborne Division)
Two XRV750-M ('91) RD04s on J ('92) plates.

Maybe I'm missing something but I'm not sure what there is to argue about in the first place???
Only two important words Charity and Ride?
One implies doing something good for someone/something.
One implies the chance to have a bit of a jolly on a bike.
Doing something good doesn't mean MONEY. Voluntary does not mean held to bloody ransome. Raising awareness is just as much an achievement.

I don't know I come home from a hard days work to this lot.
Right, as has been said the moderators do a very difficult job, they don't get a single penny, get no thanks for it (well apart from my eternal gratitude), and a load of crap to boot. Moderating is a difficult call I can assure you, there are so many variables that come in to it, it's almost a no win situation, as someone won't like the action taken or not taken.
I can assure you that these guys agonise over some decisions and debate them at length.
All I can do is to back whatever action has been taken by a particular moderator and I will always back them to the hilt.
If we have been heavy handed then I most sincerely apologise, we do try to find the right balance sometimes we get it right, sometimes not, but we can always learn from the feedback and from you telling us how it feels. So from that point of view thanks for the feedback we will take it on board.
And here's the offer.... become a moderator yourself and find out. That's a genuine offer to anyone if you have the time to spend.
Cheers
Dave
