Can you upload pictures directly from an iPhone to the forum?

No I can't - have just tried. I imagine it will be an issue with the browser type not being handled. The browse for file is greyed out, this will be the case as the iPhone doesn't have a file stucture as per windows or mac.

I understand the iphone implementation of Safari doesn't support the html upload method needed.

Not strictly true... you can do this, but you need an app for this.

So what you can do is to use one of the Flickr upload apps and then copy and paste the URL in to the forum post.
Its a bit messy though.

So you don't use Safari and do use another app.

So what makes my comments on Safari wrong?

Not having an iphone is there not another browser that you can use or are iphones tied to Safari?
