embedding Garmin maps

HI GUys how do you embed maps from Garmin map source??
If you know please help as I 'am a computer Muppet.

What sort of files?? and also what do you mean by embed? Do you mean showing points or routes on a map within the forum??

Don't know whether you can as Mapsource isn't an online resource. I've exported a GPX file from Mapsource then used GPSbabel to convert to a KML file and import to GoogleMaps.

Setup yourself up with a Googlemaps account first and then you can use their code to embed into a page.

If this makes zero sense, let me know and I'll try again.

We have a plugin installed that should do this but it seems to be broken and I cant see a fix. Lave it with us for the moment

J, OK simple answers...

We used to have a module called PHOOGLE maps where you could place a single point in a google map in a thread , that fell to the wayside as the module was built for an earlier version of the forum software.

It is though something I think we should be looking more at, I've no idea if there is software that will allow us to link in a garmin (or any other GPS file like KML or KMZ) files especially with being a trail riders forum.. I'll look into it though it might be a none Vbulletin module that might end up in it's own pages but anything I find I'll pass onto our resident head honcho (DaveS) and see if it can be encorporated into the pages
