Thanks Pete, but I have been speaking to the head honcho in customer service at Hein Gericke. It's no longer under their warranty but under that of Goretex so there's little they can do.... or will do anyway.

I'm going to take some picture when I get it leaking again.

    Glad i found this review.
Since thinking of getting the HG CRUISE GTX DAYLITE JACKET. Rather then the Tricky http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/p...oducts_id/2513
That they suggested as a replacement.

Only thing is how reflective is the CRUISE jacket at night will i still need hi-viz belt/vest on over the top?

+1 on this jacket, first time i wore mine was a trip to the isle of skye in march.we had it all, cold, warm(ish)rain, sleet, snow and wind.ive never been so warm and dry in bad weather.its a jacket you can put on and ride 500 miles in a day anywhere and not give it a second thought, cuffs are tight for getting gloves under though.money well spent in my opinion.i paid for mine on hein gerickes 0% finance,£28 deposit and leave with the jacket,£28 direct debit for the next 9 months, hardly felt the cost.

HG stuff is the best but a bit expensive, I have had my jacket and trousers for 3+ years now and its still going strong.

Thumbs up Re: Hein Gericke Cruise GTX Goretex Jacket

Just back from a five day trip to the scottish highlands from Nottingham. Up and down the east coast. Weather vairiable, That horrible mizzly rain, the stuff that gets in where other rain fears to tred, for mile after mile. Heavy rain at times, cuffing chilly at night, particularly up in the cairngorms and sutherland. periods of sleet and snow, Sunny and bright at times and oh so foggy along the coast.

So how did the jacket do. One word sums it up. Fantastic. dry as a bone not a single leak, anywhere, warm when required, good vents when needed. Downsides. well a couple. Only two of the external pockets are waterproof, soggy cash and fags not good. Collar a little tight, wouldnt stay closed over my Tube, unless it was so tight it acted as a cervical collar, seriously restricting head turns, (perhaps my fault for having a 17 1/2" neck) same problem with the storm collar which also interfered with my "Foggy". But I spose small beer compared to remaining warm and dry all the way. Also wearing a pair of HG Oxtan trousers. they too warm, dry and leakless all the way

sounds like a normal day up here, the Collar problem can easily be fixed by adding a bit of velcro to extend the strap. I have the HG Cruse jacket and it has the same problem.

I have kept dry with my HG, but have two gripes!
Get wet around the family jewels in heavy rain.
The velcro fastening on the collar is pretty poor, should have heavy duty poppers.
I still have no idea what pockets are supposed to stay dry - only the inner one stays dry on my jacket.
Overall though it is a good suit and I will certainly buy another - especially if they made short leg trousers!

Re: Hein Gericke Cruise GTX Goretex Jacket

Does anyone have a contact telephone number or email address for Hein Gericke? I have tried the "contact us" address on their website but have not had any response yet.

The reason that I am asking is that I have a broken zip slider on the left sleeve of my Cruise GTX jacket. It looks like a manufacturing fault with the body of the slider itself -

It bust on the Derbyshire meet-up at Jellies earlier in the month and is a real pain as it is now very difficult to close the zip without the tag being attached.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
