    Remus Grand Prix Race Exhaust

I bought my Aluminium Remus in 2003 as I wanted a more fruity sound, and boy do you get that with this fellow. It's loud, much louder than stock, and as it's the race version is louder than normal Remus.

I had a little bit of trouble fitting it as it was tight and I had to jiggle things a bit to get them to all line up and fit. One big issue is that it needs a replacement exhaust cover for the bottom of the exhaust otherwise your leg can touch the hot exhaust. Paul Hodson does a cover that sorts this out nicely though.

I also wasn't that impressed with the quality. Now that might be me of course, but the aluminium soon tarnished, and the stainless steel connecting pipe rusted. Compare that to my BMW where it get's the same treatment with all sorts of crap thrown at it and it comes up great all the time.

But the sound...... ohh the sound. It's to die for. I miss it even now.

Well my German Grand Prix has tarnished but that's due to what I used to clean it with. It was pretty much spotless when it arrived (Second hand). It all seems well made and solid.

Mine does have a baffle it would seem (Squashed looking pipe thing inside) as it is not particularly loud but adds a nice edge to the noise.

Fitting was easy, although I had to Dremel the side cover a little bit (A few millimetres)

I need a new heat guard too as mentioned.

I am with Dave as i now ride this bike with this pipe, it sounds very nice, but has not weathered very well at all, i have just has it stripped and painted in black heat treatment paint as i wanted to keep the sound. i also found adding a K+N filter and rejetting has lifted the power a lot.
