    Power Monkey

    http://www.powermonkey.co.uk
I Bought one of these last year, or the year before.
The buses have a strange habit of breaking down in areas there are no public phones. If we call the controller they always say "Phone the enginner and follow his instruction".
    Mobile phone battery dead.
I have used mine to power a Tom tom one XL, as the buses do not have accessory sockets. the internal battery lasts two hours, plug the power monkey in and it ran the tom tom for the return trip and left 3/4 charge in the internal battery.
It does not leak power as normal batteries do so It lasts for one year from charge to charge if not used.
Going abroad you only need the one power lead to charge your phone, ipod camera. Just make sure you have all the plugs for the equipment you take.
It also has a usb lead so it can charge from a computer.
Do not need it al the time but when you need it it is there.
I have not used the retail back up, so can not comment on that aspect.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
