Halfords Professional 1/4 36 Piece Socket Set

I had this given to me by request a couple of years ago after reading that it was more sensible to use the smallest socket set that you could when working on motorbikes. The theory being that if you use a 1/2 or 3/8 drive you can put much more force in and risk stripping threads or breaking bolts.

I've found it a top quality set. I've used it extensively, dropped the whole lot a number of times and it's not sustained any damage. None of the bits have broken when being abused or used. However I do try to look after it by wiping it over with an oiled rag occasionally. And it's a good mix of bits as well that cater for almost everything on my GS or XR.

Re: Halfords Professional 1/4 36 Piece Socket Set

I bought one of these a few years ago for working on fiddly Toyota MR2 bolts and now use it on my bikes (Past & Present) Great little set of sockets. And being a hex head rather than the cheaper star type i found they don't round off nuts/bolts.

I've one of those too, it's a great piece of kit and almost small enough to be carried on the bike.

However, I've no idea where it is.

If anyone spots it please let me know.
