I haven't seen a review for the Khyam Biker Tent and as lots of us have them thought it was worthy of a review.
Most of the Khyam range tend to be quick erect (ooo errr misses) and you can get them up in around 5 mins or so with practice. This is very useful when it's chuking it down with rain!
However as one member of ours can attest to it does help to do this in the light as if you try to do it in the dark you may end up in a right mess!
The poles within the tent, apart from one, are all integral and just snap in to a rigid position hence the speed. There's no trying to push poles through damp material in the rain.
The tent itself is nice and roomy. You can easily sleep two hairy bikers side by side with room for all the kit in the porch. There are plenty of nice touches around the tent such as pockets for things, a hook for a light in the sleeping bit.
The porch section is very roomy although you do need to be organised if you have a wet kit to ensure that water doesn't run everywhere.
There are two doors, a front one and a side one. Both can be held open with poles to let the air circulate.
The quality of the tent is good and I've not heard of anyone's leaking from new, mine certainly hasn't and I've been in some serious downpours!
I would strongly recommend getting the footprint groundsheet at the time of purchase. It's much easier and protects the tent wonderfully. It also packs down and fits in the tent bag.
Which brings me to the tent bag which holds all of the pegs, poles, tent and ground sheet quite comfortably. I added a rubber mallet and a peg puller to mine.
Not sure there's a lot else to say at the moment. Great product.
Carry on the discussion of this great tent at Camping Forums UK.
