AT - Motad Venom Exhausts £70

    Just a heads up folks.

Called Motad this week re; Venom can + link pipe for the @s.

First answer was no dont' think we have link pipes, but i will check on stocklist.

Second answer, oh! computer says yes we have 20 link pipes for @.

Quoted £75 + post, told him we had been quoted £70 inc post for @ forum members, he said he didnt' know about that but agreed I could have them at £70 each, I promptly ordered 2 (I have 2 @s )

Theres 2 listed on e-bay at the moment, but first one is at £80+post already.

So if you want one ring them direct 01922 714700.

Oh, for Transalp info; my 96 600TA has a can + link pipe from an @, just needs a short adapter for the different diameters.

Sounds like a bargain Do you know if these would fit an RD04 model as well?

    Hi Zen,
Fitted the can to the RD04 today, had to do a cut and shut job on the link pipe to get it in the position I wanted. One bend was over bent and out of line, it didn't fit the RD07a either so I think it was just a rogue pipe.
The other ones on its way so i'll see how that fits ( will probably alter it anyway to suit my taste ).

Thanks for the reply mate. When you say 'cut and shut' do you mean you needed to cut it and weld it back together again? I'm not sure I'd be up to that at the moment unfortunately.

Hope your other one fits well and is a bit easier anyway. I'm trying my best to resist buying new stuff for the bike at the moment as I've spent loads on the bike itself and bits since I got it recently and money is running out now, but £70 sounds such a bargain for a stainless steel exhaust I'm not sure I'll be able to resist

The exhaust on mine probably has a bit more life in it yet, but there'll come a day in the not too distant future I'm sure when I'll be regretting not snapping up a deal like this now.

I'll need to make time to try and free up the bolts on my exhaust to get it off first though. I tried to take it off the other day and found two bolts seem to be stuck (and like a numpty I tried to force them with a spanner and rounded the heads off). If I don't manage to get it off without breaking it, my need for a new exhaust could become a bit more urgent soon

Do you have any photos of the motad exhaust on your bike? If it's not too much trouble and you have some to hand it'd be interesting to see what they look like on the bike if you could post a couple. I tried searching for some photos online but couldn't seem to find any.

Here's the pics of Venom on my RD04 (I hope)

    It worked, Hooray
The link pipes been chopped and tacked up, and can set in position. Have to make permanent spacer and longer bolt to fix can (spacer about 50mm long), and take link pipe to a mates to use his TIG welder.

Thanks for posting the photos. It looks really good. Much better than the standard exhaust (particularly mine at the moment).

I'm not sure I'd be up to welding anything myself at the moment but might be able to find someone to help. I'll need to measure things up and make sure it fits underneath the givi wingrack thing I have as well (though it's a bit hard at the moment as the bike's in bits so might wait until I get it put back together again = hopefully they'll still have some left by then).

I really like that red striped motul decal you have on the back btw. Really fits the style of the bike nicely

I got 2 cans and niether link pipe would fit, they were'nt bent the same either , so I'll have to mod the pipe for the RD07 too

The good bit is it sounds really good. I tried it without the baffle but it was just tooooooo loud
