    Thumbs down Wyder Honda.

I bought my Transalp from Wyder in Preston in June and they never gave me an owners manual, after loads of chasing and Hollow promises it never arrived.

I have had other things on my mind and had not chased them for a while, it now turns out they have 'Ceased trading' at the Preston branch and the Warrington outlet is no longer Honda just 2nd hand and servicing.

So they gave me Honda GB telephone number and asked me to take it up with them, I spoke to a 'lovely' boy called Elliott (no ET jokes please ) who said they could not help and to get Wyder to order one from a Honda dealer!!!!

I will take it up with them in the morning, however does anyone have a spare one knocking around, or details of one please ?????

Or shall I just go and buy a Haynes Manual ????

    Cheers Guys

    Frad,

I have a spare Owners Manual from my first Transalp (RIP ), it was a 2002 model - XL650V2.

I don't think that there were any major changes between the models, apart from the hardwired headlight on the 2004 on models.

If you cannot get a newer Owners Manual, then give us a shout and I can post it to you.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Aye, it's not bad when the sun shines.

I'll have a dig about for a suitable jiffy bag or strong envelope for the manual.

Wyder Honda - one of the least helpful shops I have ever been in. They went round buying up several minor bike dealerships in and around preston, centralised on one out of town location and then were crap. I went in once after a oil filter for my TA. Their parts man said they didn't stock them, I mean WTF its a common part. Their demise is no loss to the motorcycle trade.
2001 Transalp XLV650. Faithful old friend still chugging away nearly 100,00miles
2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.

    Re: Wyder Honda.

'nother thing, when I ordered my bike I had a main stand, Luggage and a Scottoiler, as extras.

In the childish excitement of picking it up 1/2 an hour after passing my test, I failed to notice they had not actually fitted the Scottoiler !!!!

So tokk it to the Warrington branch which is closer to me and they fitted it immediately.

So all well I hear you say...................

Well it was until the clear pipe that goes in the bottom of the oil bottle resevoir thingy whatsit, came off and dumped the oil all over my patio. NOT HAPPY

I know they are tight to get on but it next doors baby could have done better.

Anyway I have fixed it and it works well now

So I aint sorry to see them go.

I have found a small garage called http://www.spodmoto.co.uk/

they changed my headlight bulb today for me very helpful and they will have my servicing.

As you will see they are in Warrington.
